Description of Services:

One of the HEDIS and Star measures affecting all payers and providers is the ability to reach patients/members who have been diagnosed with diabetes, and for whom no annual eye examination has been completed. HealPros contracts with the majority of the major health care payers, and is provided with the names of these non-compliant members. HealPros utilizes its own out-bound call center to contact the members, and to arrange a convenient day/time to dispatch technologists who go to the member's home to obtain the fundus photographs. Examinations do not require dilation, and once images have been obtained they are uploaded to the HealPros portal where licensed ophthalmologists in each state render a member specific diagnosis. HealPros takes this diagnosis and directly conveys the results to each member's PCP, as well as sending a letter to the patient/member conveying the examination results, as well as any recommendations from the reading physician relative to recommended follow-up actions for the member. HealPros is only compensated by payers for closing quality coverage gaps, and each examination completed includes a single payment that incorporates the professional as well as technical components. HealPros is assisting clients across the country in elevating their HEDIS and Star scores, and can demonstrate an ever increasing degree of effectiveness over the past six years that we have been providing these mobile DRE examinations.
