Carena's system was architected with the expectation that medical records and business service records would be shared and integrated with our client's clinical and business systems. Carena is able to export clinical data in multiple data formats, HL7, XML, PDF, and, if supported, direct interface. Carena utilizes its own Virtual Practice Guidelines during training and at the point of care (within its proprietary software) to ensure appropriateness of care. These internally created guidelines for virtual urgent care were initially developed in 2009 (with ongoing revisions) to account for the lack of published guidelines on safe, high-quality virtual care. At present, Carena's Virtual Practice Guidelines provide support for ~95% of all clinical scenarios.
